FAQ
Simple answers about campsite snipes, holds, and booking.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Snipe a Site do?
Snipe a Site tracks the campsite you want. When a matching campsite opens, it tries to hold that spot long enough for you to finish booking on the official park website.
Do I still book through the park website?
Yes. Snipe a Site helps you find and temporarily hold an opening, but you complete the reservation and payment on the official booking site.
How many snipes can I run?
Each account can run up to 10 snipes at a time. You can cancel a snipe any time to make room for another one.
How long do I have after a campsite is found?
When a campsite is found, Snipe a Site can hold it for up to 12 hours. If the hold expires before you book, your snipes page will show that the snipe has expired.
What do the snipe statuses mean?
Searching means your snipe is active and still looking for a matching campsite. Held means a campsite was found and is temporarily waiting for you. Released means you chose to continue to the official booking site after Snipe a Site confirmed the campsite was available there. Expired means the hold window or trip date passed, so that snipe is no longer active.
Will I be notified when something changes?
Yes. Snipe a Site sends email for account verification and when a campsite is found and held. You can also check your snipes page any time to see whether a snipe is still searching, held, released, or expired.
